Echo was created as part of my Autonomous Design minor in which we were asked to create a personal talisman. Collecting neglected objects I came across while walking and being on the road as a starting point, I worked around a piece of red phase wire. The value we give ourselves to an object is determined by the attention we pay to it. So I began drawing the object frequently to negate its neglected property and get to know it's shape in a tactile manner. After months, drawing evolved into wanting to communicate from a more transmitting energy. By creating two graphic notations forming the basis for 'Echo', an ever-evolving sound piece for electric guitar based on minimal changes in tone and volume came into life. The piece was presented by exhibiting the two graphic notations and an accompanying text that hovers between poetry and science explaining the wire's charasteristics.
